Emmanuel Kwofie and Augustina Kodua for eight years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing and unlawful entry

A Takoradi Circuit Court has sentenced Emmanuel Kwofie and Augustina Kodua, to eight years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing and unlawful entry.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Kumah Mensah said the accused persons, who pleaded guilty, operated as a couple looking for a room to rent.

He said on October 16, this year, the phoney couple went to the house of Olivia Abbey at Kwesimintsim, near Takoradi, in search of a room to rent and after talking to them and seeing them off, Olivia decided to take a bath.


Chief Inspector Mensah said Augustina sneaked into the room of Olivia while Kwofie kept watch outside.

He said the accused persons stole two mobile phones valued at GHC230, a set of jewellery valued at GHC690 and cash of GHC35 but they were arrested.
