Nigerian Pastor Stephen Emeka Anazodon arrested for smugling Indian Hemp ( wee)

A 38-year old Nigerian, Stephen Emeka Anazodo, has been arrested by Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) officials at the Aflao border for allegedly possessing and attempting to smuggle 51 parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, out of the country.

The suspect, who claimed to be a pastor, had the substances hidden in the compartments of his saloon vehicle with a Nigerian registration number BU295-LSD.

He was dressed in a white cassock at the time of his arrest.

His body language made the officials suspicious. According to the Aflao deputy Sector
Commander of CEPS, Isaac Desmond Abbey, the suspect admitted during interrogation that the substances belonged to him but said he was only carrying prohibited narcotic substances from Accra to Nigeria for a fee, an explanation the officials found to be false.

Mr. Abbey said his outfit had handed over the suspect to the police for further investigations and prosecution.

The Ketu South District Police Commander, ASP Yakubu Ahmed Issah, told the media that the suspect would soon be arraigned before the Aflao Circuit Court for unlawful possession of narcotics. Source: Daily Guide
